I just started working as an after care preschool teacher twice a week at this Jewish preschool and hours vary on the schools need for me or my schedule. My employer has known my family for the longest time and has known that I wanted to work in the Preschool Industry, so she recruited me to work for her part time.
I started working at the Claremont as a 17 year old Senior in high school. I started off teaching swim lessons and coaching our swim team, then became life guard certified. I grew up swimming at the claremont and my swim coach ( now boss ) asked if I wanted to work for her and I said yes. Now I have been there for almost 5 years this August.
I have always enjoyed babies and little kids, so I started babysitting around my neighborhood at the age of 13 years old. Then it just grew from there. I still babysit frequently and have experience starting with the youngest age of 2 months old - 15 years old.
I got the opportunity to experience working in a children setting this semester through my college and made some great connections with several of the preschoolers.
