His alma mater includes The University of Sheffield. He specializes in the conduct of population-based epidemiological studies, including trials and large country-level surveys in developing countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kenya, Afghanistan, and Eritrea. He has worked as Senior research Instructor and Research specialist in AKUH and as a Deputy Director for the IRD.
