Abdulkadir A. Hashi is a seasoned Somali politician with over twenty-five years of experience in state building and governance, intergovernmental relations, diplomacy, and public relations. From 2016 to 2017, Mr. Hashi held the positions of Minister of Education, Culture, and Higher Education in the Federal Republic of Somalia, while also fulfilling duties as a member of the Somali Federal Parliament. Prior to that, he served as the State Minister for Planning and International Cooperation in Puntland State, Somalia. His journey into public service began with diplomatic postings at the Somali Embassies in Canada and the United Kingdom. He has a Master of Public Administration from Brock University, St. Catherines, Ontario, Canada, and a Master of Political Science in International Relations and Public Policy from West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV, USA. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in International Relations at the University of Palermo in Italy, expected to be completed by December 2024.
