COVER LETTER

Dear Hiring Manager,

I’m excited to apply for the New Graduate RN Residency Program at Stanford Health Care. I am currently a nursing student at Loma Linda University and will be graduating in June 14, 2026. I’m looking for a program where I can continue to grow, build a strong foundation, and be challenged as a new nurse. Stanford’s reputation for excellence and learning is what drew me to apply. During my clinical rotations in medical-surgical nursing, I’ve had the opportunity to care for patients in fast-paced environments where I learned how important it is to stay organized, communicate clearly, and prioritize patient safety. These experiences helped me become more confident in my assessment skills and taught me how to work effectively with the healthcare team. I also had the opportunity to be involved in a quality improvement project in the Pediatric ICU focused on pressure injury prevention. I worked with the unit educator to help create posters and reminders to improve repositioning and skin assessment practices. This experience showed me how small changes can make a big impact on patient outcomes and helped me grow in my confidence speaking up and contributing to the team. I’m looking for an environment where I can continue learning while providing safe and compassionate care, and I believe your residency program would be a great fit for that. Thank you for your time and consideration. I would really appreciate the opportunity to be part of your team.
