some of the duties as a 5 ton truck driver / loader include:

• keeping the truck clean and in good condition
• Doing house moves, deliveries, and equipment relocation
• walking through the process of the job with customers and answering any questions/ complaints they may have
• Communicating with dispatch throughout the day and at the end of each shift to keep things running smoothly
• strategically loading the truck in order to avoid causing damage to the load

The average weight of the product we are loading is between 3000-10,000 lbs, usually twice a day. The most weight moved individually being roughly 80,000 pound semi trailers full of canary seed, beans, etc which we do regularly.

• Coating tapes using a hawk and trowel
• Taping by hand and with various tools
• Working off of ladders, baker scaffolds, and scissor lifts
• Rough and final sanding with a sanding pole and sponge
• Problem solving in various situations
• Working in tight spaces
• Very fast paced work environment
• Mostly large commercial sites (4000+ feet of drywall)

During lay offs / weekends / after hours I stay busy with side work, Either on my own or alongside subcontractors. This work is a mix of residential and commercial.

• Working on flat roofs where a harness is required
• Working various types of saws
• Worked alongside experienced Journeyman where i continued to learn about the trade

• Loading, unloading, moving, 80-90lb bags of stucco mortar, lime, and pales of water
• Shoveling sand, pouring bags and water in order to mix mud to be laid on the wall.
• Passing pales of mud up onto scaffolding, moving wheelbarrows of mud from the trailer to wherever it is needed, as well as shoveling mud onto mudboards atop scaffolding
• setting up and dismantling scaffolding
• Working fast in intense heat, Usually 8-13 hour days

• Learned to board and tape
• Installed and taped drywall for residential and commercial projects with consistent attention to quality and safety
• Loading materials onto site. (40 lb boxes of mud, sheets of drywall, bags of concrete fill)
• Hanging poly around work areas to prevent spread of dust. Drywall scrap, dry mud on floors, dust, cleanup and disposal.
• Fast paced work environment

• Heavy manual labour such handling Joists, trusses, moving lumber, passing sheats up ladders
• Followed established job site safety regulations and maintained safe and clean work area.
• Kept job site cleaned up properly during and at the end of the day, Including packing up tools, Generators, Compressors, etc.
• Often working at heights. Up on roofs during all stages of construction, lifts, ladders, working off of zoom booms.
• Working year round in extreme elements
