Ontario Science Center

- Volunteered 20+ hours to assist the Ontario Science Center with hosting a variety of STEM events (Pride in STEM, Black Excellence in STEM, etc).

- Worked with Science Center staff to coordinate with games and activities for guests and panelists.

- Welcomed 200+ guests to the Ontario Science Center and offered assistance to visitors.

- Founded and led the first and only Canadian chapter of a design team for NASA.

- Created a 12-inch soft robotic mobility arm for a robotic duster designed for the International Space Station using a variety of electrical and 3D-printed components.

- Received over $2000 in sponsorships and coordinated a trip to Rochester, New York to participate in the Critical Design Review for our project.

IgnitionHacks

  • Created a program that monitors the movement of the user to ensure they're still studying using libraries such as OpenCV with Python.

HackTheValley

  • Created a program that helps the user identify the endangered species in their area using API's such as Geoapify and NatureServe Explorer.

 ElleHacks 

  • Created a program that helps provides the user with descriptions of endangered animals in their area using the Wikipedia API and Geoapify.

AmberHacks

  • Hosted and organized a hackathon at my school related to child trafficking, and encouraged production of projects to combat this issue.

Projects 

Cultivate Code:

  • Founded 'Cultivate Code', a student-led organization providing free programming classes to all ages.
  • Worked with children from ages 6-17 to provide Java, Python, and Web Development classes at different skill levels.

Minecraft Torch:

  • Created a functional Minecraft Torch by creating 3D printed parts using Sketchup, Tinkercad and Solidworks.
  • Used electrical components (circuit board, bread board, wires) and an Arduino Uno to create a light system to power the torch with the press of a button.

Web and Game Development:

  • Created a choose-your-own-story game in Python with libraries such as NumPy and PyGame.
  • Created a game similar to Jetpack Joyride in Java using Swing and AWT.
  • Created an informational and functional webpage using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
