Volunteer Experience

  • Indy 500 in Toronto as part of the Fire crew- Attended the Indy 500 from 0500- 17:00 providing fire suppression in the pit crews.
  • Bruce Power indigenous learning experience- Supported this activity by operating the lights and sound for the Jingle Dress Dance. Assistance was provided to the young participants by demonstrating how to do the crafts.
  • Multicultural Day at the Kincardine Davidson centre- At the Kincardine Davidson Centre set up a booth to talk about the First Nation culture. Handed out pamphlet of the Moose Hide Campaign. The Moose Hide Campaign raises awareness to end violence against Indigenous women and girls.
  • Kettle and Stony Point Powwow- Attended to the maintenance of the powwow grounds during the two-day powwow. Assisted coordinators as requested with transportation of water, assisting elders to the seating area.
  • First Nation Hockey distribution- · Assisted with the distribution of hockey equipment to the youth of the Kettle and Stony Point First Nation. Assistance was provided to many youths that were in need of hockey equipment to be able to enjoy the winter sport and to be able to participate in Little NHL. Each youth was outfitted with proper fitting equipment which they were able to keep.
