Work History

Capstone Research Project (Prof. Paul Eastham)

Trinity Collge Dublin
09.2023 - 11.2023
  • In classical regime, modeled two coupled kuramoto oscillators, discussed the the frequency response curve, phase diagram and found the Arnold tongue.
  • In quantum regime, modeled two weakly coupled spin-1 systems, investigated the relation between the Von Neumann Entropy, average value of the product of raising and lowering spin operators and the degree of synchronization (characterized by the quantum mutual information) respectively.

Ultracold Atom Intern (Prof. Dan Stamper-Kurn)

UC Berkeley
05.2023 - 08.2023
  • Experienced user of QuTiP and Bitbucket
  • Analyzed the magnetic dipole-dipole interaction between two permanent magnetic dipoles, derived the Hamiltonian and the magnetic dipole moment of the interactionbetween two magnetic dipole as a function of distance between the dipoles.
  • Implemented parallelization and optimization techniques, significantly enhanced the computational efficiency of the optical tweezer simulator. The simulation time of the accelerated simulator is 65% of its original, enabling faster and accurate analysis of complex quantum systems.
  • Analyzed and derived the concentration of Titanium gas from the diffusion partial differential equation. Developed a fitting function program which takes in the concentration data and an initial guess of the diffusion coefficient, and outputs the optimized value of the diffusion coefficient.
  • Developed a program to find the best cooling wavelength of the sideband cooling.

Intern in Ion Trap (Professor Hartmut Haeffner)

UC Berkeley, USA
01.2023 - 08.2023
  • Devised a systematic and efficient approach to aligning the two double-pass Acoustic Optical Modulator setup, resulting in achieving the highest efficiency within the research group.
  • Developed machine learning algorithm (modified from Lasso), for automated MS gate fidelity alignment in quantum computing system.
  • Implemented machine learning algorithms (LSTM algorithm and the random forest algorithm) to model the time dependent magnetic field of the light shift gate.

Algorithm Intern (Professor Colm O Dunlaing)

Trinity College Dublin, The University Of Ireland
06.2022 - 08.2022
  • Developed a program that implements the Kuratowski's theory in C language. The program detects the planarity of the input graphs and output a Kuratowski subgraph of non-planar graphs. The project is supervised by Professor Colm O'Dunlaing from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Still improving the program as request by Professor Colm.

  • Obtained Class I results in all the courses, including Math, Physics, Chemistry, English for Academic Purpose
  • Awarded Global Excellent Student by Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.

Bachelor of Arts - Physics

Trinity College Dublin, The University of Ireland, Dublin, Ireland
09.2020 - 05.2024
  • Was in theoretical physics during the first, second and third year.
  • Transferred to physical science (physics) in the fourth year
  • Honoree of non-Foundation Scholar: awarded after obtaining class 1 grades on a set of selective exams. I was the only theoretical physics student in my year to do so.

Extracurricular experience

I took on the role of a runner for some speech contests held by the philosophy society, a position that allowed me to demonstrate my leadership and organizational skills. My responsibilities encompassed the coordination of various tasks, timelines, and resources, ensuring the smooth execution of these events. Communication was a key aspect of my role, as I was tasked with clearly articulating expectations and guidelines to both participants and judges. Beyond just organizing, I also played the role of a motivator, inspiring participants to deliver their best performances. This not only enhanced the quality of the contests but also fostered a positive and supportive atmosphere.
