Summary

I'm a recent Chemical Engineering graduate from Dalhousie University and a registered Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with a passion for solving complex engineering challenges through practical design, simulation, and safety-first thinking.

Throughout my academic and professional journey, I’ve worked on multidisciplinary projects, including a major capstone initiative in partnership with Stantec, where, me and three other colleagues contributed to the design of integrated water, wastewater, and hydrogen production plants. I specialize in equipment sizing, flow assurance analysis, process simulation (Aspen HYSYS, MATLAB, COMSOL Simulation), and technical documentation, always striving to deliver efficient, safe, and cost effective solutions.

What sets me apart is my commitment to quality, attention to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile to get things done right. I thrive in fast paced, collaborative environments and am eager to join a team where I can grow, learn, and make a real impact from the first day.

I'm currently looking for opportunities where I can bring value to engineering, manufacturing, or R&D teams, especially in roles involving process design, safety analysis, system optimization, or technical support.

Overview:

  • Under the supervision of Stantec and Dalhousie University, my team and I designed three co-aligned plants: water treatment, wastewater treatment, and green hydrogen. This project included weekly team meetings with senior Stantec representatives and Dalhousie University professors.

Project Phases:

Background Information

  • Conducted a comprehensive literature review of modern electrolyses technologies and processes
  • Gained critical knowledge to select the most suitable machinery and proceed with plant design
  • Investigated alternatives to common technologies to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process simplification

Design Requirements

  • Analyzed project constraints and developed strategies to overcome them
  • Selected optimal designs for the machinery, overall plant layout, and surrounding equipment
  • Focused on material selection to mitigate corrosion and erosion, aiming to minimize maintenance costs and ensure longevity
  • Produced several flow assurance analyses to ensure proper flow measurements
  • Constructed rough drafts of Process Flow and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams for the different plants (PFD's and P&ID's, respectively)

Final Design Presented

  • Sized and finalized all required components, including piping, reactors, and filtration systems
  • Performed flow assurance analysis using Aspen HYSYS and Microsoft Excel
  • Delivered the final copy of key deliverables on the given deadlines: PFD and P&ID diagrams, Final report, Dedicated sections on safety and sustainability to ensure designs met industry guidelines and standards,
  • Designed cost-effective solutions for a variety of clients while adhering to strict safety regulations.
  • Presented findings from engineering research at conferences and workshops, showcasing expertise and advancing knowledge within the field.
  • Conducted a thorough economic analysis to optimize costs and ensure economic feasibility
  • Utilized a software on Microsoft Excel named “CAPCOST” to evaluate the most cost-effective solutions
