Response to a radio call of a subject actively cutting herself with a blade in the middle of the campus commons area. Upon contact, de-escalation tactics were used to calm the subject. A coordinated tactical approach lead to successfully disarming the subject and placing getting her into custody without incident. Provided medical aid to the subject, prior to her transport to the hospital to be placed on a medical evaluation hold. Subsequent actions lead to receiving the department's Life Saving Award.
