Upon relocating to Canada in 2012, I embarked on a new chapter, delving into the world of music. I began with pop music then transforming into classical music. For the past three years, opera became my canvas, and the characters I portrayed were my brushes, allowing me to paint vibrant emotional landscapes on the stage. Singing opera helped me realize that my lack of emotions in singing before was mostly due to my young age and consequently the inability to relate to the characters personally; however, I don’t need to think how the characters think; I only need to feel how they feel.
On October 6th, I hosted a charitable recital with the intention of raising funds for Lions Gate Hospital (LGH). I chose LGH as the beneficiary of my event because it is an integral part of my community, and I wanted to make a meaningful contribution to the well-being of my local area.
I have significantly enhanced my singing skills since passing the level eight test, having mastered a repertoire of songs suitable for my vocal range. In preparation for the exam, I committed to three lessons per week and dedicated two hours to practice each week.
Throughout the practice and recording process for the competition, I took on the responsibilities of distributing lyrics and providing vocal technique instruction to the participants. We dedicated a month of weekday rehearsals in preparation for the competition, and I also invested an additional two hours each day in preparation work.
When I was only 13 and 14 years old, I had the honor of being invited twice as the special guest for the Lunar New Year celebration at the Vancouver Canucks. During these occasions, I had the honor of performing both "The Star-Spangled Banner" and "O Canada" and became the youngest national anthem singer in the history of the Vancouver Canucks.
I dedicated three months to preparing for the competition. In addition to having voice lessons with my coach twice a week, I diligently practiced for one to two hours daily to ensure my readiness. Given my young age at the time, I also had a weekly practice session with my piano accompanist to guarantee rhythmic precision during the performance.
I dedicated two months to preparing for the audition and performance. Following the video submission, I received notification of the results, and I had the honor of becoming the program's very first performer at Universal Studio.
