Worked as a journalist for the following newspapers/wire agencies: the Toronto Star, Alaska Highway News, St. Albert Gazette and The Canadian Press. My freelance work appeared in Maclean's, Canadian Business, Alberta Venture and Alberta Report magazines. I also wrote features that appeared in the Vancouver Sun, the Ottawa Citizen, the Edmonton Journal and Edmonton Sun.
During this period, I took a one-year contract at Great North Productions to research stories and arranged interviews for two different television documentary series:
Shiver: The Science of Cold, which first aired for broadcast on National Geographic Television. I secured interviews with Archbishop Desmond Tutu and NASA astronaut Julie Payette.
The Canadians, which aired on History Television. Secured photographs and interviews for the segment on Joseph Scrivens (the poet-songwriter of the hymn What a Friend We Have In Jesus)
I also helped hire and train researchers for other productions at Great North.
After relocating to Fort McMurray in October 2004, I worked as a contract writer for Syncrude's internal and external publications.
