An experienced RPN of 30 years, with a genuine enjoyment of working with younger clients , with flexibility to be available for 2 to 3 shifts per week.
Although I retired from visiting nursing 2 years ago, to work alongside my husband at our family business, it was always my intention to return in some capacity to nursing. Now is a favourable time. I have maintained an active RPN license with the CNO and remain a member of WeRPN.
* Provided safe, competent, ethical nursing care to community patients within my scope of skills in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team
*Administered vaccines at various Durham public health clinics (elementary grades to elderly )
*Utilize a strong foundation of advanced and knowledge and skills to provide treatments related to acute and chronic wounds, pressure injuries, negative pressure applications, compression therapy application, drain care, medication and symptom management for patients of varying ages.
* Organize assignment schedule with coordination to optimize opportunity to meet patient needs for care
* Provided education to patients and caregivers to encourage continuity of care with successful or desired outcomes, reducing complications. ie. self- healthcare, wound care, medication taking, palliative symptom comfort care
* Provided preceptor training, for new staff and students
* Maintained continuous communication with Home and Community Care coordinators via electronic reporting with updates, supply and equipment orders, and requests for referrals to supports in the community for our mutual patient
