  • Captain In Charge, responsible for 2 , 24 hr. passenger ferry services in Grand and Petit Passages and the 4 vessels and crews required for these services.
  • Managing 28 direct report crew members , looking after pay , vacations , sick time , training ect.
  • Looked after all aspects of daily operations such as safety , maintenance , crewing , scheduling , supplies , training ect.
  • Very much involved in all vessel refits , construction of new vessels , planning refits , scheduling and overseeing all maintenance jobs on site and dry dock.
  • Captain in Charge from 2012 to present. previous to this I was Captain on board the vessels, that range in tonnage from 175 gt too 328 gt. and carry up to 98 passengers. I was captain for 16 years and previous to that was engineer 2 years and mate for 2 years.

After high school I was involved in fishing lobster , groundfish and scallop for a few years I then started acquiring education to become a captain

I started out getting a fishing masters 4 cert After I got hired with the NS gov ferry service , I began more studies at NSCC Port Hawksbury At this time I acquired a 4th class marine engineer certificate and worked engineer on the ferry's for a couple years before becoming captain Once I became captain, I quickly began upgrading my certificates and acquired a 500 Masters Near Coastal certificate
