Job Responsibilities
Phlebotomy: Responsible for blood sample collections from Emergency Department (ED) and Inpatient units.
Laboratory Testing: Performs diagnostic testing and evaluations on patient samples in a core laboratory setting, including Hematology, Chemistry, and Transfusion Medicine; takes appropriate corrective action when necessary.
Equipment Maintenance: Conducts routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments to ensure optimal functionality.
Performance Optimization: Contributes to the achievement of departmental and organizational goals through efficient and accurate laboratory practices.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensures adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintains compliance with IQMH accreditation standards.
Health & Safety: Follows all health and safety protocols, including recognizing and reporting unsafe conditions or practices.
Infection Control: Maintains a safe and hygienic work environment by adhering to infection control and hazardous waste management procedures.
STAT Testing: Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, especially under urgent conditions requiring immediate testing (STAT).

Patient Monitoring;Provides continuous and detailed monitoring of critically ill cardiac patients, including those with arrhythmias, myocardial infarctions, heart failure, and post-cardiac interventions.
Cardiac Assessment ;Performs thorough cardiovascular assessments, including vital signs, ECG interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and recognition of changes in cardiac status.
Medication Administration;Safely administers cardiac medications (e.g., antiarrhythmics, anticoagulants, vasopressors) and titrates IV infusions as per physician orders and protocols.
Emergency Response;Responds promptly to cardiac emergencies such as code blues, initiating CPR, defibrillation, and advanced life support measures as needed.
Care Planning;Develops and implements individualized nursing care plans based on patient needs, in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Patient Education;Educates patients and families about cardiac conditions, treatment plans, medication regimens, lifestyle modifications, and discharge instructions.
Documentation;Accurately documents all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in electronic health records in a timely and professional manner.
Infection Control & Safety;Maintains a sterile and safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and hospital safety standards.
