As a Lab and Research Assistant at The Centre for Sound Communities, I supported a range of community-focused projects aimed at fostering hospitality, building relationships, facilitating knowledge exchange, and promoting collaborations with Unama’ki College, Mi’kmaw communities, and musicians. My responsibilities included:

• Organizing and maintaining lab equipment to ensure efficient and effective operations.
• Monitoring lab activities and assisting with research-related tasks, recording sessions, and managing presentation materials.
• Designing and distributing promotional materials within the community to enhance outreach and engagement.
• Coordinating and collaborating with community members, knowledge holders, and professionals during events and outreach initiatives.
• Contributing to the development of community-based projects that nurtured cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration.

• Supporting Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) and Early Childhood Assistants (ECAs) at the daycare which involved engaging with children respectfully, organizing indoor and outdoor activities, assisting during mealtimes and naptime, and providing overall care for the children.

• Welcoming members during early mornings, facilitating member sign-ups and renewals, managing social media content, maintaining cleanliness and organization within the facility, ensuring compliance with COVID-19 regulations and facility protocols, and coordinating community events.

• Working as a front cashier and drive-thru attendant, I operate with a team-oriented approach, providing courteous service to customers while maintaining cleanliness in the dining rooms and bathrooms. And adhereing to COVID-19 protocols and safe practices for staff and customers.
