I am a highly motivated, dedicated, and focused individual with a burning passion for my work. I am creative, resourceful, excited by the challenges of research and experimentation, an excellent communicator, and a team player.
As an Adjunct and Clinical Academic Colleague at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Alberta, and a Fellow of the Ghana College of Pharmacists, I bring a unique blend of experience and expertise. My contributions to top scientific journals, role as a reviewer, and supervision of postgraduate research demonstrate my commitment to advancing the field. I have also shared my knowledge by developing and teaching courses in asthma, vaccination, professional services, and career guidance to Pharmacists and pharmacy students at the Ghana College of Pharmacists and pharmacy schools in Ghana.
I am the Head of the Department of Biotechnology, Microbiology and Public Health at AEServe in Lethbridge, AB. I am a certified Human Rights Consultant. I have worked with colleagues at the FDA, Ghana, and the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana to develop protocols (to monitor, register, and regulate narcotic products) in Ghana and also collaborated with scientists at UHAS to apply for an EU Grant on anti-microbial resistance. I also worked with colleagues at the Ghana College of Pharmacists to design and develop a course on Medication Review, which the Pharmacy Council approved for practising Pharmacists.
I am the Pharmacy manager at Costco #160 in Lethbridge, AB, where I have additional authorization to prescribe (APA), give injections/vaccines, and am a certified respiratory educator (CRE). I have started working towards acquiring certification in diabetes education (CDE).
Over the past six years, I have served as a Board member, with the last five years being particularly impactful as I held the positions of President and Board Chairman of the Southern Alberta Ethnic Association. This association, an umbrella organization for over 50 ethnic associations, has provided me with invaluable leadership experience. Additionally, I am the President of the Southern Alberta Afro-Canadian Association, further enhancing my ability to manage and lead teams effectively.
As the Founder of Asthma Ghana (www.asthmaghana.com), I devote time and resources to educating, supporting, and advocating for asthma patients in Ghana. My Patient Support Group has over 300 members. I am the lead researcher on a multinational project on asthma in Ghana, Canada, and the United States of America.
My connection to and passion for the LFS's work are unwavering, and I am deeply committed to community work and volunteerism. I believe in giving back to the community and am dedicated to making Lethbridge a better place for everyone. In conclusion, I have the necessary education, skill sets, and experience to impact your institution significantly.
Student-centred Professor with expertise in Pharmacy practice, biotechnology, microbiology and public health. I have over 10 years background supporting students, developing instructional plans and organizing and grading exams and tests.
I have been commended for sustaining an effective learning environment through prepared classes and relevant assignments and consistently achieving classroom management and academic goals.
