Accomplishments

  • Used Microsoft Excel to develop inventory tracking spreadsheets.

  • Ordered cut to length rebar from the mill for a pile project in Fort Mac.Then shipped it by rail to the railhead near Fort Mac.Saving the receiving and handling in Calgary and subsequent reload and ship to Fort Mac. $2500 a load at the time.
  • Shipped stock bar for slabs from Nucor in Seattle to our project in Vancouver ,again saving double handling at the shop and shipping was covered in reroute to site .

Roles And Responsibilities

  • With A&H the job was start up for the facility.
  • Making sure equipment was installed, cranes, shears, benders.
  • Coordinate with the sub trades to affect the install: Electricians, welders, and the air component.
  • Set up office, hire staff for the shop.
  • Set up logistics for shipping.
  • Whatever needed to be done.
  • Very similar with Varsteel in Winnipeg and Interfab in Edmonton.
  • When the shops are up and running, and it's the day to day.
  • Assign work and manage workflow.
  • The system we use is called aSa. Optimization, shipping, stock and inventory control.
  • Managing staff of up to 20 people.
  • Purchase equipment, advise on future equipment layout.
