Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and re-assessment. Ability to adequately assess and re-assess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques and tools. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management. Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patients. Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patients and their clinical status. Follows the ten medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors. Ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily for effectiveness. Educates the patient family with regards to the patient’s illness. Demonstrates ability to assists physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
