As an after-school care assistant, my responsibilities include:
- Checking in students when they're out of school, making sure they're fed once checked in.
- Transitioning them between different activities, aiding students in completing homework assignments.
- Performing first aid duties when necessary, prioritizing student health and well-being at all times.
- Sanitizing dishes, tabletops, toys, and frequently touched surfaces to prevent spreading of germs.
- Applying positive behavior management techniques to enhance social interactions and emotional development.
As an instructor my responsibilities are the same as the previously listed along with:
- Coordinating and preparing activities for students, communicating with parents about their child's behavior and/or any concerns.
- Implementing emergency preparedness procedures during drills, ensuring student safety and compliance with school policies.
- Managing daily attendance records accurately, ensuring timely submission to the main office.
- During my time as both an assistant and an instructor, I have administered first aid to students when necessary. I was named EDCOE's Employee of the Month last December for my performance as an assistant and instructor at two different schools.
