Growing up, I always had a love for the outdoors and sports, anything that kept me active, I would involve myself in. These activities along with my penchant for dealing with people, led me to explore customer service avenues in Toronto. After my tenure in Toronto, I found myself in a position where I wasn't sure where I wanted to go in my life. My love for the outdoors and being active stayed with me and I found myself doing more adventurous activities such as backwoods camping, especially in Algonquin Park. My trips into Algonquin Park showed me a different side of the forests, waterways, and wildlife present in our country, as well as some of the issues facing our forestry sector today. After much soul searching, I realized a career in forestry was the pathway I wanted to explore. With so many related jobs, and endless ways to contribute, improve and experiment, I knew I could help make an impact in Canadian forestry sectors and help both with educating and expanding the way Canadians view our forests.
