Site Maintenance and Repair:

  • Reactive and preventative maintenance to grounds and exterior building components to ensure the safety of those who utilize School Board properties.
  • Creation and enforcement of Preventative Maintenance plans on an annual/bi-annual basis. Snow removal, grass cutting, sports fields (artificial and turf), irrigation, fencing, storm water management systems, playground equipment and power sweeping are all examples of maintenance required under this portfolio.
  • Regular visits to school sites to discuss/assess current conditions and respond to issues on an as-needed basis.

Contract Management:

  • Assist, develop, score and award Tenders, RFQ's and Vendors of Record for snow removal, grass cutting, equipment inspections, landscaping, vehicle fleet management, portable/modular building relocations (including connection/disconnect), storm water management systems and catch basin clean out/repair.
  • Manage multiple contractors within each Tender or RFQ for up to 57 different school properties.
  • Responding to any issues on an on-call basis 24/7.

Development and Updating of Various OPM/SOP's:

  • Annual review of OPM/SOP's to ensure relevant verbiage is included.
  • Updating of OPM/SOP's and submission for approval to be issued as educational documents for all employees.
  • Ensuring all employees/scopes of work are included and have relevant documentation to view for any given circumstance they may come across as an employee.

Alterations to Site:

  • Develop scopes of work for issuance to contractors to improve school sites. Including but not limited to the addition or removal of playground structures, gardens/trees, miscellaneous carpentry, memorial sites, signage, outdoor educational spaces and indigenous spaces.
  • Liaison between the school staff and various contractors/vendors to determine pricing, scope of work and efficacy of requested projects from the school administration staff.

Fleet Management:

  • Purchase, maintain and ensure all documentation is up to date for a fleet of over 100+ School Board issued vehicles.
