Summary

I have 10+ years of experience in ELCC, worked in infants, toddlers, preschool rooms and also have short time experiences in Kindergarten and OSC as well.


Since I was a successful student, my teachers invited me to work at the 1000 Women Center at NorQuest College, where I worked for two years (I left due to downtown traffic and paid parking issues). While working at Kepler Academy, COVID-19 occurred. Due to the needs of the community, I quickly opened a day home in my own house and ran it for two years. After two years, as COVID ended, I decided to return to working in a daycare.


I started working as a preschool teacher at Willowbrae Academy and remained in the same classroom for two years, until Willowbrae Academy closed on October 9, 2024. While working at Willowbrae, I was voted ‘Exceptional Teacher’ by parents last year. In my second year at Willowbrae, I mentored newly hired teachers upon the recommendation of GRITT Inclusive Child Care Coach, Ms. Tiffany Callihoo, to the management.


I don't see daycare teaching as just a job. I believe that every daycare teacher should have a mission. My mission as a preschool teacher is to nurture independent, confident, and responsible children. I strive to create an environment where they develop empathy, distinguish right from wrong, and take responsibility for their actions. I encourage problem-solving skills and effective communication to help them navigate social interactions. By fostering curiosity and a love for learning, I empower children to think critically and creatively. Additionally, I aim to instill a sense of environmental awareness and respect for the world around them. Through guidance and support, I help children build a strong foundation for their future.
