I worked several weeks at the CHCC in their summer camp program as a BYLD leader. My job as one of the BYLD leaders was to help look after the kids from opening until closing (about 6-7 hours per day), I was responsible for planning out the entire day, assist so no one gets hurt, help participants acquire new skills and knowledge appropriate for their age through fun games. It was so exciting being able to get these kids so enthusiastic about playing games, and getting to talk to them about what they enjoyed and their hobbies.

Shortly after I finished my volunteer work, a friend of mine asked if I would be able to look after their house, as well as their dog for the next 3-4 weeks as they would be travelling for that time period. I agreed, and everyday for that time, I would go to their house 3 times a day, feed, play with and walk the dog, before making sure everything inside was still perfectly find before leaving. On average, each trip throughout the day would last about 90+ minutes, as I aimed to be very thorough, and wanted the dog to feel as happy as possible. Once they returned, they thanked me for my work, stating how I did a great job, and then compensated me. I had a rather enjoyable time house sitting for my friend, even if it meant waking up around 6 a.m come sunshine or rain, as it allowed me to develop my responsibility and time management skills.
