Tristen Wetering

I have been a timekeeper for a few years now, and I have done plenty of games with ages from U6 all the way to men's league. I have also kept time for the majority of the Erin Outlaws' home games. This has taught me how to work in intense situations while being calm.

This opportunity to coach youth soccer was amazing. It allowed me to continue to work on the skills I have learned from other jobs and volunteering. I used my experience with the youth to make soccer fun and entertaining while teaching them the basic drills, like dribbling, shooting, and passing.

While running this landscaping business with my close friend, I learned things about the working world and how to run a business. This experience allowed me to understand customer service since we were always meeting new clients, managing our time while still in school, and being quick but efficient. Finally, as good co-workers and business partners, we had to communicate which days worked for us, and who was going to work on which task. While running a business, I have cut lawns, built gardens, performed lawn clean-up, and trimmed trees.

During the summer of 2022 and 2023, I volunteered to help coach baseball for the youth. While helping, I would run stretches, fun and interactive drills, and overall make it a fun experience for them. This volunteering opportunity allowed me to teach a game I love, and along with that, it taught me patience, responsibility, and communication.

This was my first experience in actual work life; I made my own successful business with the help of my parents, spreading the word on Facebook. This was also an amazing opportunity to work for multiple people, learn work ethic, and communicate with customers.
