Collaborate with the Director of Photography (DoP): Work closely with the DoP and the gaffer (head of the lighting department) to understand the lighting plan and requirements.

Prepare Equipment: Organize and test lighting equipment before shooting begins.

2. On Set

Set Up Lighting: Install lights, rigging, and accessories such as gels, diffusers, and reflectors to shape the light as needed.

Operate Lights: Adjust the intensity, focus, and direction of lights during filming to match the director’s vision and camera angles.

Troubleshooting: Quickly address technical issues with lighting equipment during filming.

Adapt to Changes: Make on-the-spot adjustments to lighting setups as scenes evolve or creative decisions change.
