  • Operated variety of different make/model of hoe drills (270, 300, 330) with Traxxon drill attachments.
  • Fill out blast-logs for every blast as per Worksafe Reg.
  • Supervise and direct swamper helping load explosives into drilled holes
  • Performed routine maintenance on all drilling equipment. (changing striker bars, recharging accumulators, repairing blown hoses, etc)
  • Troubleshot mechanical issues onsite in order to minimize downtime between jobs.
  • Operate D7R dozer after blasts spreading ballast rock on subgrade to bring to finish grade.
  • Spread ballast rock with excavator onto subgrade, bringing road to finish grade.

  • Spent a season at Baffinland Iron Mine, in northern Nunavut running 988 wheel loader in the mine, loading iron ore onto large freighter ships.
  • peformed "hot seat" rotations with other operators, running a continuous shift doing 13 hour days, for 3 weeks at a time during "shipping season"
  • Worked alongside 8+ other 988 and 992 wheel loaders in a very high paced ore pad, loading iron ore.
  • performed feeder moves and stacker moves in between loading ships, and cleaned ship loader and belts between boats.
