I began my work experience as a Primary Care Paramedic in 1992. I upgraded to an Advanced Life Support provider in 1996. I was hired by Calgary Police Service in 1999 and performed general policing duties until June 2001, where I returned home to NS for family reasons.
I was hired by the Bridgewater Police Service in July 2001 and performed general police duties until 2005 when I was assigned to General Investigation Unit. I cultivated confidential sources and investigated serious crimes such as Drug Offences, Sexual Assault, Large scale Frauds and others.
I was assigned to the Street Crime Unit in 2007 which was an integrated unit of myself and three RCMP members. I assisted in low to high level drug investigations, serious crime including Homocide.
I returned to Generral Patrol in 2010, and was promoted to Sgt ( shift supervisor) in 2013.
I was again assigned to the Street Crime Unit in 2015 as Officer in Charge until 2018.
I returned to General Patrol as shift supervisor until my retirement in August 2022.
I returned to EHS Life Flight as an operator of the ground component, and routinely work around fixed wing aircraft and rotary wing.
I have experience in drafting search warrants,, cultivating and maintaining confidential sources, exhibits control and interviewing suspects.
I was qualified as a Drug Recognition Evaluator in Jacksonville Florida, and have provided testimony in Provincial Court, Family, Supreme, and the UARB in NS.
