In Chainalysis I worked as the senior engineering leader for the Core Service group, a horizontal group that provided force multiplying solutions across our product suite. I lead 4 teams driving topics including identity and access management, cross solution search, product unification and collaboration. I worked with c-suite stakeholders to establish the vision and goals for the group and worked across my teams and product partners to translate these into projects and plans.

At Amazon, I worked in both the People Experience Team and the Personalization Organization. My role included leading strategic initiatives, overseeing organizational design and review, managing talent acquisition and performance evaluation of both individual contributors and managers, as well as budgeting infrastructural costs and providing regular reports to Directors and VPs. In addition to these responsibilities, I successfully led the design, development, and release of several projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize existing product costs in both infrastructure and engineering effort.

As the owner of the data organization at eBay Classifieds Group, I led the refresh of our data strategy, which was last updated in 2016. My strategic focus was to enhance the effectiveness of our data products and explore new technologies and practices that could generate better business outcomes. Additionally, I was responsible for coaching and assessing leaders of leaders and individual contributors while optimizing our ways of working to improve execution efficiency and ensure measurement consistency across different problem teams in my domain.

As the most senior technical member of the Catawiki team, I provided leadership for the 70+ strong engineering team while ensuring alignment with the company's financial goals. I played a critical role in building and developing the engineering team through a consistent and measurable hiring process that assessed candidate skills and fit. To facilitate the team's professional growth, I established a set of competencies that were used during hiring, appraisals, reviews and individual coaching sessions to drive efforts and set expectations. As a member of the management team, I worked to align business goals with technical efforts and communicate the impact of these efforts both internally and externally, demonstrating the importance of our development efforts.

Company Overview: House of Eleonore is an Amsterdam based startup focusing on sustainable luxury.

As a founding member I was responsible for all IT related tasks and objectives. This included the development of an in house platform that included a content management system, contact management system, inventory management system and accounting platform using Node.js and PostgreSql. In addition to technology related task I participated at the board level in strategic planning as well as team building.

I joined a team of approximately 70 engineers as a software developer and eventually becoming Senior Manager for Front End Development in a department of over 800 engineers. In addition to coaching team leads and their team members I was responsible for and participated in hiring and recruitment, performance management, budgeting, salary and bonus negotiation while reporting directly to the CIO.

While at North Rock, one of Bermuda’s largest ISPs, I formalized the internal development environment by introducing a proper revision control system, deployment mechanism, test environment and a Wiki to help document development and procedures. My primary focus was designing and developing a web based application to manage and monitor a WiMax wireless infrastructure. In addition I maintained a MS SQL cluster, a BIND cluster and other miscellaneous ISP infrastructure.

Working remotely as the lead for a distributed team I was responsible for steering the efforts of 5 developers as well as designing and developing web components for a number of content based websites using the PHP’s Symfony framework.

Working as the sole software engineer I was responsible for designing a mobile advertisement display and tracking system that recorded when and where an advertisement was displayed to all for analysis and billing.

Company Overview: Realenet Solutions was a real estate based startup focusing on solving the problem of document tracking and conveyance.

While working in a team of two developers my responsibilities included designing the functions and features for the platform as well as installing, maintaining and monitoring the infrastructure the platform ran on.

At ClearOption Technologies I had a number of responsibilities and roles. I participated in numerous large and small projects ranging from a Java based distributed POS system to a PHP based white label eCommerce solution. My role required me to assist in the hiring process as well as client negotiation and sales. Outside of software development I also took an active role in system engineering maintaining a small number of Apache and MySql installations.

With GlobalPoint Technologies I was responsible for designing and developing the first iteration of the stand alone expense management software ExpensePoint.

At Oak Park Enterprises I designed and developed an inventory management system using MS SQL Server and Visual Basic. In addition I had miscellaneous duties pertaining to the maintenance of an MS IIS and Exchange Servers.

Using first Turbo Pascal and later Visual Basic I was responsible for the design and development of an EDI based exchange system for invoices between McDonald Travel and the University of Manitoba.

While working with Landmark Feeds I maintained and enhanced an internal livestock management system written using Microsoft Access 95 and 97 as well as working on the migration to MS SQL 6.5.
