Volunteer Experience

Projects Director, Rotary Club of Nanyuki

  • As the first Projects Director of the Nanyuki Rotary Club, I was responsible for creating flag-ship programs, as well as executing fundraising opportunities for our club. I organized the club’s Charter Event, a tree planting fundraising event on National Tree Planting Day; an older person's celebration on National Older Person's Day, a flagship fundraising event called the Nanyuki Motor Maze, and worked with the communities and other Rotary Clubs on small philanthropic projects such as a bore-hole project for a hospital.

Organizer, Hash Harriers

  • As Organizer, I was responsible for finding volunteers to mark the running routes, collecting donations, and organizing the meals after each run. After collecting donations, I was able to organize a charitable run where the donations earned were matched and given to Simama Organization – an education program for orphans in Kenya.

Volunteer, Operations Crossroads Africa

  • Travelled to Kenya for a 6 week program with a team who worked together with the community to build functional space for a local orphanage.
