Work History

Finance Manager and HR Manager

Nanjing LanJin Hoisting Co., Ltd.
Nanjing, China
12.2018 - Current
  • Working in administration, my main roles are Finance Manager and HR Manager.
  • As the Finance Manager, I am responsible for coordinating the financial aspects of the company, including budgets, cash flows and expenditures.
  • As the HR Manager, I am also in charge of overseeing the company’s human resource functions including managing employee-related processes, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and supporting the company’s strategic objectives and the employees’ needs.
  • Both positions require working closely with other departments to ensure everything runs smoothly, allowing me to develop my leadership and coordination skills, as well as giving me the opportunity to learn more about which areas I excel in and which areas I can improve upon.

Listening Volunteer

Samaritans
Glasgow, UK
02.2015 - 12.2016
  • Working as a Listening Volunteer at Samaritans involved offering support to those in distress or despair through a confidential listening service, without question or judgement.
  • Through this I was faced with many different challenges, but was also able to become more aware of how to learn from my mistakes as every experience is a learning curve.
  • I have been trained to become a better listener as a result, and have learned to adapt to each individual’s needs.

Customer Service Assistant

Gartcraig Express
Glasgow, UK
08.2014 - 04.2015
  • Being a Customer Service Assistant in Gartcraig Express I was involved in serving customers on the till, re-stocking, and maintaining promotions and product/inventory prices.
  • Through this experience I was able to better cater to customers’ needs and wants whilst also developing good relations with both new and regular customers.

Voluntary Part-Time Teaching Assistant

Ann Drummond Dance Academy
Scotland, UK
08.2014 - 12.2014
  • Re-attending my previous dance school as a Voluntary Part-Time Teaching Assistant allowed me to experience dance from a different point of view.
  • Due to my own background with dance as a student – and love of working with children – I was able to effectively channel my creativity in this way by offering a different take on movement and dance styles, whilst also aiding both teaching staff and younger children.
  • As well as this, I was able to develop a stronger sense of responsibility for my peers.

Voluntary Part-Time Classroom Assistant

Aixue Education
Nanjing, China
04.2014 - 08.2014
  • Due to my interest in foreign languages and desire to help, inspire and widen the knowledge of both others and myself, I wanted to do so by firstly becoming part of a child’s progression into adulthood.
  • Therefore I became a Voluntary Part-Time Classroom Assistant in Aixue Education, where I was involved in planning, delivering and assessment of work and activities for children in conjunction with teaching staff.
  • These activities included: lesson planning; organising classroom activities; involvement in written and oral assessments; and providing feedback to parents.
  • I established a positive and trusting relationship with both students and co-workers, which in turn triggered my eagerness to improve my Mandarin Chinese and motivated me to work even harder to ensure a high standard was maintained.

Support Group Member

YONEX Welsh International Badminton Championships
Wales, UK
12.2012 - 12.2012
  • Having always enjoyed playing badminton from a young age, I jumped at the opportunity to become part of the Taiwanese team’s Support Group in the YONEX Welsh International Badminton Championships, which included: promotion and advertisement; organising accommodation and transport; photography; and translation.
  • My main role was in supporting and boosting morale of the team overall.

Preparatory Committee Member

The ROC (Taiwan) Centennial Celebrations
Scotland, UK
01.2011 - 12.2011
  • Being part of the Preparatory Committee, I assisted in various events.
  • These included: New Years Day Flag-Raising Ceremony; Edinburgh Taiwanese Film and Cultural Festival; etc.
  • This enabled me to expand my abilities by taking on a range of different roles and responsibilities, and allowed me to develop a more innovative way of thinking as I had to find better or simpler solutions to different tasks that were set to me.

Part-Time Retail Assistant

CDPiazza – Cathay Creative
Taipei, Taiwan
07.2011 - 08.2011
  • Company Overview: a creative designs shop in Taiwan
  • Art has always been a big part of my life and a way for me to explore creativeness and challenge different concepts.
  • Thus, I became a part-time retail assistant in the CDPIazza flagship store at Taipei Huashan 1914 Creative Park.
  • This experience allowed me to interact with many different characters, and challenged me to go out of my comfort zone as I had to find innovative and convincing ways of interacting with the diverse range of customers and piquing their interest.
  • During this experience I also realised the true importance of working effectively as a team, and gained more experience with working under pressure.
  • I was also able to improve upon my Mandarin Chinese.
