BRENTWOOD ELEMENTARY Sept. 2003 - June 2005

Calgary, AB

I worked with students aged 5-10 in the Communication and Behavior program. This was a program for students who were already diagnosed with severe autism and spectrum disorders. This job involved working with two classroom educational assistants and a lunchroom assistant. Strong communication with parents and staff was essential to ensure the best and most suitable learning experiences for each student. I used Picture Communication Symbols and sign language to teach these students. Sensory activities and social scripts that adhere to behavioral and communication needs were individualized for each student to ensure optimal learning.
