  • Assume the duties and responsibilities of an Operator In Charge (OIC) as defined by O.Reg 129/04.
  • Take all necessary steps to operate assigned processes safely and efficiently in accordance with relevant operations manuals.

  • Operate the wastewater collection system safely and efficiently following operating manuals and procedures.
  • Monitor, operate, maintain, test, and adjust the Wastewater Collection System for compliance.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly monitored, inspected, evaluated, and that operating status records are prepared at the end of each shift.
  • Respond to wastewater-related calls, including blockages, odors and lift station failures; troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Engage in the maintenance, operation, rehabilitation, and repair of the wastewater collection system, including mains, laterals, siphons, force mains, lift stations, and maintenance holes.
  • Inspect wastewater system for completed capital and development projects.
  • Operate and maintain specialized equipment such as combination sewer flusher/vacuum/hydro excavation units, CCTV push cameras, pipeline cleaning, and infrastructure locating tools.
