Ultra Running/Extreme Expeditions/Running

I do believe in living and maintaining a healthy life style. I have run several full marathons, and countless half and 10kms. I have been drawn in to the Ultra Marathon competitions. I have completed what is deemed the Coldest and Toughest Ultra Marathon in the world. The Montane Yukon Arctic Ultra. You have to pull your own gear (tent/sleeping bag/food/water/clothing/etc) behind you in a pulk (sleigh) through the Yukon's untouched wilderness. It has minimal checkpoints, and very little contact with staff. Not only do you have to be physically ready, your mind must be sound and strong. I have completed the 100 mile distance many times, and I am currently challenging the 300 mile distance.

My son is my life and everything I do it for him and for him to see that anything is possible, you just have to put your mind to it. He joins me in the Yukon everytime I go, and it is one of the greatest experiences for him. From dog sledding to meeting all of the racers from around the world.

Training and maintaining this lifestyle keeps you motivated, goal oriented, and on focus. This always reminds you that anything is possible and achievable, but with that comes hard work and disipline.
