- Maintained strong working relationship with our governing board over twenty years after implementation of a policy governance structure. My final year was a sad exception to this.
- Initiated and oversaw many years of school strategic planning with the support of various facilitators.
- Formed and led a tight-knit, productive administrative team.
- Worked with admin team colleague to oversee the rebranding of our school aligned with our motto Belong. Believe. Succeed.
- Responsible for hiring, induction and professional development of all faculty and staff.
- Instituted and worked with an admin team colleague to structure weekly research and development sessions (definitely an idea borrowed from King's!).
- Introduced project based learning and Teaching for Transformation as tools to enhance distinctly Christian instruction.
- Worked with admin team colleagues to develop a flourishing and belonging school culture, including support and discipline for students with behavioural challenges.
- Began a school spiritual life program, including weekly chapels, a spiritual life coordinator and annual spiritual emphasis weeks; served on the chapel committee every year.
- Oversaw the development of extracurricular programs that enhanced student life beyond the classroom setting; oversaw the school choir and coached a basketball team every year.
- Responsible for development and management of what became a $3M operational budget.
- Cultivated relationships with school supporters and donors to enable strong support for the school's bursary program and capital campaigns.
- Managed a bursary program which helped over 30% of school families access Christian high school education.
- Secured and oversaw a Feed-In-Tariff (FIT) solar power project which has funded beyond-budget school programs and needs since 2014.
- Instituted and managed a 1:1 MacBook program for all students and staff.
- Worked with admin team colleague to manage the school's relationship with the Ontario Ministry of Education.
- Oversaw scheduling of supply teachers, in-school coverage and staff supervision.
- Conducted admissions interviews with all new families and strove to maintain supportive relationships with all parents.
- Worked hard to develop and maintain relationships with all staff which engendered strong support and accountability.
