  • WBS Manager, 7-Eleven Canada, Inc., Southern Alberta, Canada, 2022-01-01, 2024-12-31, The site is an active gasoline retail outlet in Southern Alberta. Following environmental site assessments, a significant methane gas plume was found to exist across the site. Extensive investigation was conducted over the last year and half to determine source while the site remains closed which includes but not limited to isotopic sample and analysis, EM/GPR survey, collaborating with surrounding high pressure gas line operators to eliminate source and a Phase II ESA. A Sub Slab depressurization system was installed inside the store to eliminate risk of methane buildup. Vapour pins were installed across the site to conduct a gas migration survey and to delineate the area. A Vapour Extraction System was also installed across the site to reduce the risk of methane buildup below the asphalt. Based on the results of the systems installed, methane levels have been reduced to levels where the site can plan for reopening., Tara serves as the Southern Alberta WBS manager responsible for managing phased investigations, monitoring activities, risk management, and remediation of up to 10 downstream contaminated sites annually.
