Working with the first group of Emergency Communications nurses in Canada. Triaging low acuity 911 calls, ensuring patients receive the right care at the right time. Involved with the Community Paramedic teams, assisted with case management of high risk seniors living at home. assisted with developing the emergency communication nurse program and implementing the system at Niagara Emergency Medical Services.

Provided direct patient care in ER setting, from resuscitation procedures to care for the walking wounded. Involved triaging patients, care for trauma patients of all ages as well as cardiac monitoring, ECG, IVs and bloodwork. Advocated for patients and their families, provided health teaching to patients and caregivers of all age groups.

Provided direct patient care in acute medicine-Clinical Teaching Unit, and ICU settings. Assisted with health teaching and care of patients in the satellite Stroke Prevention clinic. In charge of nursing team on both day and night shifts of a thirty bed medical unit. Communicated with various members of the health care team and provided health teaching, emotional and physical support of my patients and their caregivers.
