Work History

SENIOR WINDOW WALL & RAILING DETAILER

MATREX WINDOW SYSTEM
10.2019 - Current
  • Prepared a bill of material using MS Office and this includes reading and interpreting shop drawings, understanding how railing and window wall fabrication work
  • Calculated which lengths of extrusions to order in what quantities to optimize material wastage and cost by calculating weight of each extrusion
  • Created window wall and railing constructions on software named Autodesk Inventor, Klaes and AutoCAD with the use of shop drawings and production layouts and make sure that all mullions and transoms align with each other on the same floor and on the floors above and below to match building elevations provided on Architectural drawings
  • Assign required fillers for every window wall frame such as bird friendly glass, clear glass, louver, sliding doors, awnings, swing doors, perforated panel, sandwich panel, back pans, fire stops, projected panels, exhaust and intake boxes etc
  • Created CNC file spread sheets for various window wall extrusions showing lengths and miter angles for every single piece of mullion or transom using MS Excel
  • Prepared fabrication drawings for custom window wall frames and corners with precise details such as type of insulation, screw types, material type and thickness for any metal panel, hole pattern for perforated panels, intake & outtake cutout size and locations, etc using AutoCAD ,Inventor and Bluebeam packages
  • Closely co-ordinate with project managers to make sure every measurement is incorporated properly for production release and occasionally visit to site to make sure every frame is installed as per design and sequence
  • Incorporated site measurements like balcony sizes, railing heights, frame sizes, cutouts required using a material take-off software "Klaes" and prepare necessary work order and CNC cut files of various extrusions required to build railing and window wall frames
  • Prepare designs of various panels i.e. projected panel, flush panel, back-pan, firestop, custom brackets etc. required to build a frame using special function called "Inventor I-Logic" and AutoCAD
  • Since all panels are not of the same size and structure, Inventor I-logic is a function that helps in generating required dxf files for a punching machine or laser-cut machine in a very fast and efficient way by avoiding to input highly repetitive parameters such as lengths, widths, tags, cut-out locations for every panel
  • Created necessary nesting programs for sheet metal panels using Dr. Abe software by utilizing maximum sqft area of sheet with least amount of time required to cut that sheet on machine
  • Created bending drawings for press bake operator for sheet metal panels using Inventor & AutoCAD to make sure part comes out within specified tolerance
  • Prepared production layouts and site instructions using "AutoCAD, Inventor, Bluebeam, Adobe Reader and MS Office Tools" to make sure all frames will be installed as per their design and location at site
  • Prepared 3D mockup layout at beginning of every job to replicate specific site scenarios to make sure installation and fabrication goes smoothly for window and railing frames using Inventor & AutoCAD
  • Keep a track of daily extrusion usage by plant on an ERP System to make sure material availability before all production releases
  • Provided necessary information regarding sqft material, paint and insulation required for all jobs to help in finalizing purchase orders and color samples
  • Highly proficient in taking measurements using measuring tapes, vernier calipers, radius gauges and micrometers

CNC Programmer, Drafter and Optimizer

Future Temp Glass LTD
11.2016 - 09.2019
  • Worked in a very high volume and fast paced glass panels and railing designing industry
  • Creating, reading and analyzing blueprints and mechanical drawings of various types of glass panels, glass railings, shower panels, table tops, window, doors, cabinets, UV glue bonding, mirrors, backsplash, etc. for fabrication shop using AutoCAD and TechnoCAD
  • Familiar with various standard CRL (C R Lawrence), TAG and Richelieu hardware for fabrication purpose
  • Detailed knowledge of various types of glass such as clear, textured, painted, laminated and wired glass
  • Able to read and interpret architectural, structural drawings and contract specifications
  • Created drawings using CAD or A+W (shapes/nesting) and attach to line items in orders
  • Highly proficient in taking measurements using measuring tapes, vernier calipers, radius gauges and micrometers
  • Very fast and accurate with fraction additions and subtractions and glass weight calculations necessary for design purpose
  • Created CAM programs using DXF files for Bottero CNC machines to cut slots and hinges on glass panels using TechnoCAD software for all types glass
  • Utilizing industrial nesting software (Optiway 7.4) to create programs for optimizing sheets of glass to minimize waste and cut the glass on Bottero CNC machine
  • Digitizing cardboard, wooden and glass template of shower panel, railing and table top using Scan-Way software to create dxf files for order writing and glass cutting
  • Communicating with customers on daily basis to follow up with the status of recent work orders and changes in the existing design over the phone or in person
