Women's, Child & Youth Counsellor

● Provided intake, assessments, and counselling for Women, youth and children in a diverse range of issues. From domestic violence to mental health and addictions.

● Completed presentations and workshops on domestic violence and on age of consent for Women in the community and Gimli High School.

● Participate in collaborative meetings with school principal, guidance counsellor, and other supports in the child or youth's community to help establish intervention plans to support the well being of the child and or youth.

● Counsel youth in care and transitioning out of care from Pierview Support Group Home. Issues surrounding anxiety, struggles with other peers in the home, or family struggles, and foster care.

● Various administrative tasks involving case management such as documentation of sessions with clients.

● Supervising other counsellors and ensuring the Resource Centre is running smoothly and efficiently while the Director is not in the office, or is away.

Volunteer Experience

Board Member on the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association- MB Chapter                                                                             2018-Current

Duties include helping those that have hearing loss or have a gradual hearing loss navigate through medical, social and physical needs pertaining to their environment. Also to prevent communication barriers and enhance one’s well being especially within the Elderly community and people employed. Other duties consist of holding ongoing education awareness workshops, and maintaining support groups for outreach.
