Summary

I am a passionate, empathetic, and experienced teacher with an extensive background in alternative and special education practices for at-risk youth. I have taught in a variety of school settings and mentored junior teachers. Having created and implemented new programming, I always strive for inclusion and engagement in my classroom community - a place where everyone is welcome.

  • Taught and supported students from Grades 7-11 in a mental health and group home setting - Aberdeen House. Programming included outdoor, art, and cooking education with assistance from community and therapeutic partners.

  • My greatest accomplishment was helping to create curriculum that was experiential and project-based; the program established unique community connections which offered crucial wrap around support to our vulnerable student clientele.
