Professional Summary

I am a Registered Psychologist in the Province of Alberta with ample clinical and supervisory experience in the provision of clinical treatment.

In July 2018, I resigned from Alberta Health Services (AHS) after 25 years working within a variety of clinical team environments. Over the years, I transitioned through roles in acute care, urgent care, community and rural addiction and mental health; as well as schools, social service and justice settings for youth (probation, CYOC, CYAC).

Experience with clinical and program supervision began in 2005 when I transitioned into a leadership position with AHS to oversee the provision of addiction and mental health services by multidisciplinary professionals, including: psychologists, social workers, addiction counsellors, and childcare support staff.

Stepping away from AHS allowed me to establish a small private practice and to also work as an affiliate psychologist at Cochrane Psychology Services. At Cochrane Psychology Services, I have been a trusted external care provider for members (and family members) of the Calgary Police Service as well as for first responders affiliated with the RCMP, Veteran’s Affairs, Calgary Fire and Alberta Health Services.

Since 2019 I have received annual certification from the International Trauma Institute as a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist – Individual (CCTS-I) and I adhere to ongoing professional development protocols mandated for certification with the Institute as well as for professional registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists.

I work from a holistic, tri-phasic framework that includes integrating psychoeducation, mindfulness, emotional regulation and trauma-informed approaches that include CBT, DBT, EFT, PE, ACT, BSFT, NT, and Somatic-focused therapies.

Aside from my clinical work; I have been an online course instructor for Mount Royal University and McMaster University.

I welcome the opportunity to discuss the scope of my experiences and to learn more about the position available.
