Resource organisation at UBC to support and provide material, financial educational resources to those affected by gender-based violence, especially women and misogyny-affected peoples.

  • Facilitated consciousness-raising sessions to advance the feminist political education of UBC students.
  • Planned and coordinated teach-ins and reading circles focused on sharing the knowledge gathered via lifelong struggles of prominent & historic feminist movements and figures showcasing not only a commitment to disciplined self-study but also an ability to lead, and share knowledge within, educational discussions.
  • Actively built and expanded the Centre's alliance with over 5+ grassroots organisations struggling for women's emancipation to strengthen community involvement, significantly increasing its visibility in order to effectively serve the women who need the Centre's support and resources most.
  • Collaborated with team members to efficiently plan logistics of 12+ events including but not limited to coordinating venues, materials, accessibility needs and outreach to ensure smooth execution.
  • Tasked with studying and organising archives of the UBC Women's Centre in the upcoming year, illuminating the trust of team members in handling collected archival material with care and analysing the same to add to the Centre's reservoir of knowledge.

  • Trained and mentored new volunteers, standardising onboarding practices and improving team efficiency and service qualities.
  • Curated educational book recommendation-lists on the history of racialisation, feminist struggle and queer resistance spanning authors and written accounts from 20+ countries.
  • Led outreach efforts resulting in the highest number of new patron registrations among volunteers in the year 2023-2024.

  • Regularly stepped in to keep operations running smoothly during volunteer absences, demonstrating exceptional dependability and commitment to keeping the library staffed and accessible to the masses during all operational hours.

Planning Coordinator

International Working Women's Day Panel

A panel discussion titled "A Woman's Work Is Never Done!" with the aim to strengthen global solidarity with working women from, and in, the Philippines.

  • Volunteered with two grassroots organisations, Migrante BC and Gabriela BC, to organise a panel centred on the experiences and hardships of working class Filipina women across different sectors including but not limited to care work, education and healthcare.
  • Secured 200 dollars in sponsorships from student organisations to better coordinate logistics, including venue setup and catering, showcasing reliable networking, resource management and communication skills.
  • Took initiative in charting out the event timeline and program flow as a key member of the Planning Committee, ensuring the event ran on schedule and all speakers had sufficient time to present and engage with audience questions.
  • Conducted targeted outreach to campus and community audiences, contributing to a successful turnout of over a 100 attendees.
  • Performed the One Billion Rising Dance to raise public consciousness on the staggering statistics of domestic violence, the video of which garnered a viewership of about 4,000 people.
