Administers the organization's Information Management program area by:

  • Conducting ongoing reviews of information management program activities in the organization to ensure compliance with the Information Management Act and BC Transit's policies and procedures providing remedial measure as required
  • Managing the process of final disposition of records including receiving notices, advising relevant staff of final disposition, arranging final disposition of records, applying for destruction on records where applicable and managing related documentation
  • Managing the process of offsite storage including the off-site authorization lists to ensure lists are up-to-date and ensuring only persons having authorization gain access to off-site storage materials
  • Providing Information Management training to new BC Transit staff on an on-going basis and creating and presenting records management workshops to work units in the organization
  • Providing written and oral progress reports with regards to the Information Management program and other matters relating to BC Transit records and information management issues

Initiates, implements, and provides advice on information management best practices, policies, and procedures by:

  • Identifying and leading the development and implementation of a new Operational Records Classification System for BC Transit
  • Identifying the need for legislative requirements to be implemented digitally and lead all departments within BC Transit, organizing and creating taxonomies to help refine knowledge transfer
  • Providing technical direction to employees on the application of records retention and disposition schedules and provide advice and direction on all matters relating to information management policy and procedures
