Link Crew is a high school leadership and mentorship program designed to help incoming freshmen successfully transition into high school through peer support, community building events, and academic guidance. I was elected president by my peers, leading a five member officer team while organizing fundraisers, overseeing publicity efforts, and facilitating weekly meetings. I actively supported and engaged with over 60 members, incorporating their feedback and ideas to strengthen group cohesion and overall participation. In this role, I developed strong skills in public speaking, adaptability, and leadership.
I work as a seasonal part-time sales associate at Banana Republic. This job has given me the skills to always be on my toes, ready to help customers with what they need, while exposing me to all varieties of people. I have experience in customer service, time management, keeping up during a rush, and, most importantly, hospitality.
Collaborated with librarians to organize and lead storytime sessions, including Sensory Storytimes, enhancing engagement for children with diverse abilities and needs. This position significantly strengthened my public speaking skills, as I frequently read to audiences of over 90 families. It also reinforced the importance of punctuality and preparation, as I consistently arrived early to welcome children and their parents. Continued as year-round volunteer after summer program, hosting community events such as art shows, award ceremonies, and library's 20-year anniversary celebration, fostering community involvement. Dedicated 3–5 hours each weekend to organize shelves and assist patrons, improving overall library accessibility and user experience.
