As a Fire Base Camp Security Guard, I served a critical role under a 14-day government contract with the Forest Ministry. My primary responsibilities were to maintain the safety and security of a fire base camp located in Winlow. This camp housed three separate firefighter units and included various essential operations.

Key duties included:

• Daily Check-ins and Check-outs: Managed the entry and exit of personnel and vehicles, ensuring all activities were properly logged and monitored.
• Vehicle Inspections: Conducted thorough checks of all vehicles arriving at and departing from the camp to ensure compliance with security protocols.
• Protection of Critical Assets: Safeguarded a fuel bowser dedicated to refueling helicopters, which was crucial for aerial firefighting operations. This required vigilance to prevent accidents and ensure the safe handling of fuel.
• Support for Firefighting Operations: Coordinated with firefighters as they left the camp to combat forest fires, ensuring their safe return and managing any associated logistics.

This role was essential in supporting the firefighting efforts and maintaining operational security within the camp, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Forest Ministry's fire management strategy.
