  • During time periods when the Administrator and/or DOC are not in the Home is responsible for the welfare and safety of residents and staff
  • Ensures that responsibilities and tasks are delegated appropriately based on the skills and qualifications of the staff providing care
  • Coordinates the integration of nursing staff and services with other facility services and departments to provide quality service to residents
  • In case of fire, supervises and directs an evacuation of a unit
  • Ensures that hazardous situations that are identified are corrected immediately if possible; report hazardous situations as per policy
  • Ensures that workplace incident/accident forms are completed promptly and reported to the DOC/Administrator
  • Ensures that first aid is given when required.
