Discover Financial Service is an American Financial company that owns and operates Discover bank, third largest bank in USA offering wide range of Card products, savings products, checking products, identity theft protection services and loans.

Project: Enterprise Product Modernization

Discover offers a wide range of customer service products such as Identity Theft protection, Digital Payment protection and Wallet protection to the Discover Card holders. The backbone of these financial products is built upon Mainframe technology using Cobol, JCL along with other cross functional technologies. Current Project is on mainframe Modernization which uses latest tools to modernize the application and remove the process from legacy application.

Responsibilities:

• As a Mainframe Developer, I work on Application Maintenance such as monitoring Daily batch jobs using OPC tool.
• Support Production Support team's functional queries and Fixing Production Job Failures as POC for L2 support.
• Participating in Business/functional/design walkthrough with clients.
• Preparing analysis and design document based on the functional requirement of the project.
• Support SIT/UAT for functional Usecase related queries.
• Analyzed client needs and provided tailored recommendations for process improvement.
• Mentored junior consultants, fostering professional growth and skill development.
• Conducted comprehensive market research to support informed decision-making for clients.
• Document Program Design and Quality Assurance standards to be used during implementation phase of the application.

Morgan Stanley is a global leader in providing Wealth Management and Financial Services to its customers using the application tools such as GPS(Goal Planning System), AIUT(Account Inception and Update Tool), Model Library tool which aim at providing Financial Advisor (FA) the luxury to create his own Investment plan/model or to pull GIC (Global Investment Committee) models which are developed based on Mainframe technology.

Project: GPS and AIUT Enhancements

Enhancements made to AIUT tool to bring it under a Unified platform for the Customer to access all the applications from a single screen. This Project aims to provide customers end-to-end view in a single screen.

Responsibilities:

• Designed and implemented scalable software solutions to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Conducted system analysis to identify improvements, resulting in increased operational effectiveness.
• Developed comprehensive documentation for systems architecture, facilitating knowledge transfer and compliance adherence.
• Improved system performance by identifying and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.
• Gather requirements from Clients for new application development and participate in Business meetings to design the Application.
• Assess impacts and perform analysis of new functional and business requirements to define new system requirements
• Design and Develop DB2 structures such as Table, Stored Procedures, Views and Alias
• Develop components of a new operational system including applicable COBOL-DB2 Stored procedure programs, inputs and output sources to handle back-end data for the application developed in CHANGEMAN tool
• Write complex queries using QMF, SPUFI to manipulate data and for performance tuning.
