NLFA – Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC) & NL Young Farmers Programs

• Agriculture in the Classroom (AITC): Played a key role in organizing and expanding the Little Green Thumbs program, which distributed grow kits to classrooms across Newfoundland and Labrador. The program aimed to educate students on sustainable agriculture practices and foster hands-on learning about food production.
• NL Young Farmers Program: Assisted in maintaining and updating the membership database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for members.
• Event Coordination: Contributed to the planning, organization, and execution of key events such as Open Farm Day and the Agriculture Expo, enhancing visibility and engagement within the farming community.
• Social Media Outreach: Reached out to farmers and program members for participation in social media campaigns to raise awareness of the NL Young Farmers program and promote local farming products and initiatives.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Worked closely with both executive and non-executive board members, ensuring alignment with the organization's vision and supporting the smooth execution of ongoing projects and initiatives.

Research Project on Zooplankton Consumption and Lernaeocera Branchialis

• Collaborated with a Ph.D. candidate in a laboratory setting to investigate the correlation between zooplankton consumption and the prevalence of Lernaeocera branchialis (cod worm/blackberry) in local Puffin colonies.
• Conducted sample preparation and analysis, including the examination of infected puffins for the presence of parasites.
• Maintained detailed records on the parasite’s life cycle, including its size, sex, and egg presence, contributing to the understanding of its biology.
• Ensured the proper upkeep and sterilization of lab equipment to prevent contamination, maintaining a safe and sterile laboratory environment for research.
• Supported lab safety protocols, ensuring compliance with best practices and regulatory guidelines.

• Coordinate the setup and execution of sports games, ensuring all activities are organized and start on time.
• Manage game schedules and logistics to maintain smooth operations throughout events.
• Communicate with participants to provide updates and ensure adherence to rules and regulations.
• Troubleshoot any issues during events to ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for all participants.

• Lead and coach the U14 Academy 1 team, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and game strategy for young athletes.
• Design and implement training sessions to enhance players' technical skills, physical conditioning, and basketball IQ.
• Foster a positive and supportive team environment, emphasizing sportsmanship, discipline, and personal growth both on and off the court.
• Collaborate with coaches and team management to ensure effective communication and player progress throughout the season.

• Certified Level III Ice Hockey Official from Hockey Canada.
• Officiate competitive ice hockey games at various levels, ensuring fair play, enforcing rules, and maintaining a safe environment for players.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of the game and rules, providing accurate calls and managing on-ice situations with authority and professionalism.
• Communicate effectively with coaches, players, and fellow officials to ensure smooth game flow and resolve disputes.

• Responsible for checking customers in and out of the campground.
• Took reservations for future customers over the phone and in person.
• Took payments for customers staying at the campground.
• Provided information to customers about details of the campground and its
amenities, as well as tourist information for the surrounding areas.
• Maintained campsites using power tools and consistent changing of garbage and recycling.

• Responsible for maintenance of trails and public areas in the garden.
• Maintenance included routine use of mowing, pruning, mulching, and
landscaping.
• Assisted in building of new boardwalk for trail.
• Operated and maintained hand and power tools when building boardwalk.
