I've always been a hard worker, that's eager to learn and improve. I started working in high school, and haven't had many (or any) extended periods without work since. Most of my work experience has been in the food service industry; and specifically with a company called Jimmy John's. I started working for Jimmy John's as a delivery driver in high school. From there, I worked just about every position up the ladder; including with other companies, at various times. But always in the food service industry. In 2012, I moved to Las Cruces, NM to work for a Jimmy John's franchise. I quickly became the General Manager of the highly successful, and profitable, store that the franchise owner and I had built from the ground up. My proudest professional accomplishment was when this store was approved, by our corporate office, to be an Apprenticeship store. Which meant that Jimmy John's had approved me specifically, as the General Manager, to be a Mentor to people in the organization that had recently attained certain higher level positions. Later, my Jimmy John's tenure culminated with attaining the Area Manager position with this JJ's franchise; now in Las Cruces and El Paso, Texas. In 2022, I left that position and moved to California. I wanted a fresh start both in careers and location. I started my California, and real estate journey in Orange County. I worked as a 1099 "Asset Manager" with Journey Investments/ INC Real Estate. As an AM, it was my job to find and acquire investment properties that were great deals, primarily from the MLS. To achieve this, I made lots of phone calls to agents, analyzed the comps, drove the neighborhoods, viewed the properties, reached out to any relevant entities (LADBS, local landscaping companies, etc.), and placed a value on the property to ultimately determine how much our company could pay for it. I learned how to properly value homes based on market analysis combined with how much rehab work was needed. While working at Journey, I took the required courses to obtain my real estate sales person's license. Once I completed that curriculum, I passed my final exam and obtained my license. This is when I moved to San Diego and began working as a traditional Realtor, with my current brokerage and team- The Whissel Realty Group.
