Work History

The Walk of Self-Damnation

String Quartet
  • composed a four-movement string quartet as my large-scale work for my final composition class in my undergraduate degree.
  • around 25 minutes in length and took around a year to fully create.
  • the Penderecki String Quartet played the piece in its entirety for a composers' concert and I was met with a standing ovation from the crowd.

Simpler Times: An Homage to Innocence

Chamber Orchestra
  • composed to be workshopped by members of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony to gain real experience working with an orchestra.
  • responsible for writing all the different parts and making sure that they worked and sounded well together.
  • helped me develop a lot of experience regarding how to write for orchestras as well as the limitations that different instruments have.

Time Goes By

SATB and Piano
  • composed a choral piece to be workshopped by the Laurier Singers' choir at Wilfrid Laurier University.
  • reached out of my comfort zone and decided to write for an ensemble I am not used to writing for.
  • learned a lot about the limitations of voice, how to write lyrics for a choral piece, and how to incorporate voice with instrumentation well.

Fulfillment

Classical Guitar
  • combined the likes of fingerstyle guitar with the likes of classical guitar and created this fun classical guitar piece.
  • with a fun and lively jazz chord progression, wanted to make sure that the piece I was writing was not only fun to play, but also to listen to.
  • have performed this piece many times including a performance at the Alla Grande Guitar Festival.

Bacskii

Stage Name - Alias
  • created many projects that have been published to various streaming platforms (such as Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, etc.)
  • two separate EPs titled “Searchin’ for Serotonin” and “Coastin’ and Ghostin.”
  • songs were written in a rock band style focussed very heavily on the guitar.
  • used a Digital Audio Workstation called Logic Pro X which I have been using since 2020.
